A comment on my earlier post asked: "Where are you?"
I am still wondering how to answer. It is at once a simple yet philosophical question, depending on the mood you're in. Not to turn this into a series of posts from my own inventory, but I could not resist letting these stand-alone verses go through in response...
Kya poochhte ho kahaan hain hum
Shikasta kashti mein aur toofaan ke darmiyaan hain hum...
Kya poochhte ho ke kaise hain
Ek dard se nikle hain abhi, ek ki taak mein baithe hain...
Before I start testing everyone's patience with my own scribbles, I'll be back with translations next...

Nice couplets :)
Does any term like "sad humor" exist? If it does, it's plentiful in these couplets and my latest post. Also if it does exist, it has blurred boundaries with "irony".
Ek dard se nikle hain abhi, ek ki taak mein baithe hain... speaks of so much acceptance and almost a need for pain :).. mushkilei.n itni padhee.n mujh par ke aasaa.n ho gayi :)
Well written, Siyaah, Good to see you back.
trust a poetry lover to come up with couplets for the most innocuous of questions ;)
but then its all in the mood like U said ... the mood!
very well said siyah.
"Kya poochhte ho kahaan hain hum
Shikasta kashti mein aur toofaan ke darmiyaan hain hum..."
Sawalon ka ye dard hai, ya jawabon ki kashmakash,
ki wo samne khade hain,
aur poochte hain ki kahan hum hain.
the second one is pretty good...Kya ho tum, translator ya writer?
tapasya: thanks!
vik: 'sad humor' and 'irony'...you said it!
illusionist: honored that it reminded u of Ghalib...though 'aasaan ho gayi' remains to be seen...
bhupinder: thanks! i'm around, just irregular and moody...
arfi: just couldnt let go of the opportunity...esp given the mood i was in...
manish: thanks and welcome! u seem to be pretty much in the poetic realm yourself!
phoenix: 'translator or writer' - still wondering, a little of both maybe...hopefully this blog will help navigate through this identity issue...
